Product Marketing Recruiter for B2B & AI SaaS Startups

Hire an Exceptional Product Marketer for Your Startup
WithAgility helps high-growth startups hire PMMs and Product Marketing leaders across AI, SaaS, DevTools and Security companies.

Hiring a great Product Marketer is hard. It’s a limited talent pool and competitive. The role sits at the intersection of product, sales, & marketing and most recruiters don’t know enough about any of them to screen effectively. WithAgility the the Product Marketing Recruiter for B2B SaaS & AI startups.

Why PMM Hiring Is Different

Most recruiting firms treat PMM like a marketing generalist role. It isn’t. A strong PMM at a technical B2B company can own positioning, launch a product that drives pipeline, and become the connective tissue between your product and go-to-market teams. A wrong PMM for your stage or the skillset you need, does none of those things.

We’ve sourced and placed PMMs for companies like Datadog, Vercel and Console (among others). We built PMM orgs from scratch. We’ve sat through product trainings, taken demo certifications, and learned what separates good from next level PMMs when it comes to owning product launches, driving GTM strategy and scaling revenue.

What We Look For in a Product Marketer

Not all PMMs are the same. Here’s the lens we use when building a slate for a B2B SaaS or AI startups:

Seed Stage or Series A

You’re looking for a Founding PMM. The candidate who can work without a team, define the function from scratch, and influence product roadmap without formal authority. Someone who can truly operate in both strategic and executional modes and own everything end to end. We screen specifically for builder-mode PMMs — high autonomy, low ego, high output.

Series B+

At the IC level, it’s a similar but nuanced profile. Able to drive launch programs at scale, and build repeatable systems. This likely is a candidate who likely has owned full stack PMM and multiple launches before but is looking for mentorship from a Senior Product Marketing Leader.

At the Leadership level, you’re looking for an experienced Product Marketing Leader who’s seen hyper growth before. Someone who can roll up their sleeves and execute, but also build out the GTM strategy & repeatable playbooks, own platform level storytelling and scale a team.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a founding PMM and a senior PMM?

A founding PMM typically has 4–7 years of experience and is joining as the first dedicated product marketer. They need to be comfortable with ambiguity and able to build a function. A senior PMM (often hired at Series B+) has a more defined scope, can lean on other team members to divide the work, and may prefer more of a pre defined playbook.

Do you place PMMs at pre-revenue or very early-stage startups?

We work best with companies that have shipped a product and have early customer traction and signs of a clear Product Marketing Fit — typically post-seed or Series A.

How is your fee structured for PMM searches?

Retained search is based on a percentage of first-year base compensation, with a portion paid at kickoff. Hybrid and fractional models are also available. Happy to walk through options on a call.

Can you help us write the job description first?

Yes. A clear JD is part of a successful search. We’ll help you build one that attracts the right level of seniority and signals what your company actually values. We can also help with interview process design, including interview panel selection, assigning focus areas for panelists and sample interview question banks.

Do you help with PMM hiring for AI and developer tool companies?

We are the go to product marketing recruiter for scaling startups. A significant portion of our placements are at AI, DevTools, and security companies. We understand the technical context, the buyer personas, and what makes a PMM effective in those environments.
